Our Mission
The Nebraska Master Gardener program extends the outreach of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) by providing volunteers with research-based horticulture education, which prepares them to share their knowledge with the citizens of the State.

If you have gardening experience, would like to learn more, and are willing to share your knowledge with others, you may become a Master Gardener Volunteer.

Complete the 40-hour Master Gardener course through the extension office and give 40 hours of service.

Examples of Master Gardener service include writing a gardening column for local newspapers, growing a demonstration garden, speaking to service and gardening clubs about gardening, conducting garden tours and working with youth groups. You will give the type of service you feel most comfortable with.
